If you’re a fan of the show Inside the Actor’s Studio, you know that at the end of each program the host James Lipton asks 10 questions of his guests. The format was actually inspired by the French TV host Bernard Pivot, who would submit to his guests the “Proust Questionnaire,” named after the great French writer Marcel Proust. The concept is that one’s answers to these 10 questions reveal a lot about a person.
I thought I’d give it a shot, and get the ball rolling. My hope is that in future blog posts my fellow Alstinites will jump in and post their responses as well, and the world can see us for the wonderful/dysfunctional/bright/slightly odd group that we are. Here goes:
1.) What is your favorite word?
2.) What is your least favorite word?
3.) What turns you on?
4.) What turns you off?
5.) What sound or noise do you love?
My kids or wife laughing.
6.) What sound or noise do you hate?
The screeching sound of the brakes on SEPTA trains.
7.) What is your favorite curse word?
8.) What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Songwriter/Musician—other than having almost no musical talent, I think I’d be good at it.
9.) What profession would you not like to do?
Anything at a fast food restaurant.
10.) If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
You just made the cut. Come on in.
